Garden Topic: within the last 5 years or so a new type of vine has sprouted up all over the place. I'm endlessly pulling the things out of all the gardens. The vines trail up any upright structure and I've even seen places where whole trees are being smothered by them.
So here's the biggest problem - I have them growing amid an Autumn Clematis. The leaves are very much the same, the vines grow the same and even the flowers are somewhat alike. But, of course, the Clematis is much showier and the vines has those gigantick seed pods that look like a return of the body snatchers.
Today I crawled under the vines and tried to determine which were the flowers and which were the weeds. Was it Emily Dickenson who said that a weed is just a flower growing where it isn't wanted?
So I'm trying to figure this one out. Any suggestions?

Today I want to share one of my favorite blogs and site: Blue Heron
The following is from the email I received today:
Water was Made: It Didn't Just Happen.
The blog starts with a quotation:
We had the sky up there all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made, or only just happened.
- Mark Twain, Huckleberry Finn
It continues:
Does your spirituality recognize that there are principles that contradict science, principles that science cannot explain, but without which life as we know it could not exist? Gravity for instance.
